Quilt Commando

All this talk of long weekend quilt projects and I am overlooking our gracious hostess, Jane. When we arrived Friday evening she was busy piecing a new baby quilt for Evie's new brother/sister.

She was working with the cutest selection of peachy pinks, blues and creams and had spent the day cutting and sewing four patches by machine and was then adding the white on white sashing and perriwinkle corner blocks by hand. By the time we caught up with her she had half of the top put together and it was looking lovely.

The pattern is one that she found while adding to her Pinterest page so I'm not sure what it is called, but it will be darling. They aren't sure if it is a boy or a girl but these colours will work well for either.

As you may have guessed from the title of this post Jane is a speed demon, so by dinner the next day she had the top finished. At least the part with the blocks that she was using - I think that there's going to be a border on it as well.

So, after a few pics of her latest masterpiece in the late afternoon sun...

...it was back to working on Evie's quilt. Nothing beats sitting back in the lawn chair listening to the lake and chatter around you, gently sliding your needle and thread through beautiful fabric and watching a new piece unfold...M

Marie, you are quite a quilt commando yourself -- and left-handed at that. Happy Left-Handed Day!
